RELATED COURSES
HEC Montréal has been offering academic training in arts management since 1979, the year in which it launched a series of professional development seminars. The first of these seminars focused on cultural marketing. Training in cultural management is offered at both the undergraduate, master's and doctoral level. Student supervision is assured by the École des HEC's highly qualifed teaching staff.
BACHELOR'S DEGREE
Third-year students in the Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) program may take an optional course on the management of arts organizations ("La gestion dans le contexte des entreprises artistiques"). A project-course ("Cours-projet") also offers students the option of doing an internship in a cultural organization either here at home or abroad.
D.E.S.S.G.O.C., MASTER AND DOCTORAL DEGREE
Through its DESSGOC program (Graduate Diploma in the Management of Cultural Organizations), HEC Montréal offers present and future cultural managers training in cultural management at the master's level.
In addition, students enrolled in the Master of Science in Administration have the possibility to write their thesis on a topic involving the cultural field.
Students enrolled in the doctoral program at HEC Montréal can choose cultural management as their field of study for their thesis.
